The following are the major ongoing projects being implemented by Central Rift Valley Water Works Development Agency under the AfDB funded Kenya Towns Sustainable Water Supply and Sanitation Program(KTSWSSP).
25,000m3/day at a cost of KES.1.1 Billion- at 20% progress
Extension of sewerlines approx. 35km long- Cost 500 Million- Due for Mobilization
Capacity of 3,000m3/day– at a cost of KES 345 Million- Due for Mobilization
Capacity of 1,000m3/day-at a cost of KES 284 Million- Due for Mobilization
The scope involves feasibility studies, preliminary and detailed designs and preparation of tender documents for the expansion of the existing Two Rivers Dam and Sosiani Treatment works to a capacity 0f about 72,000m3/day from the current 14,000m3/day. The preliminary designs have been prepared and shared with stakeholders. The project is estimated to cost KES 14 Billion and will be the game changer for Eldoret town and adjacent centres upon completion.
Rehabilitation of Treatment Works, Solarization of Treatment and Pumping system, Pipe laying, Construction of Tank and Rehabilitation of Tanks, Rehabilitation of staff houses and offices, Construction of water.
Construction of intake weir, Raw Water gravity main length 500m, construction of CFU, Partial desilting of Dam, Rising main, 100m3 elevated storage tanks, distribution mains and water kiosk.
