North Rift Valley Water Works Development Agency
North Rift Valley Water Works Development Agency (NRVWWDA) is one of the nine (9) Water Works Development Agencies under the Ministry of Water, Sanitation and Irrigation. It was established vide Gazette Notice No. 5 of 7th February 2020 pursuant to the Water Act No. 43 of 2016. It covers the counties of Uasin Gishu, West Pokot, Turkana and Elgeyo-Marakwet with a total Population of approx. 3.2 Million and an area of approx. 83,000 km2. The Agency was carved off the former Rift Valley Water Works Development Agency (West Pokot, Turkana and Elgeyo-Marakwet counties) and Lake Victoria North Water Works Development Agency (Uasin Gishu County).

Today, NRVWWDA joined the @DPKindiki Deputy President of the Republic of Kenya, Prof. Kithure Kindiki, during the commemoration of #WorldBiodiversityDay2026 and the launch of the CHERISH Programme at Tebe, Kapyego, Elgeyo Marakwet County.
4Led by Board Chair Prof. John Lonyangapuo and CEO CPA Edwin Rotich, the Agency joined Kenya’s Ambassador and Permanent Representative to UNEP Mrs. Ida Odinga, CS Interior Kipchumba Murkomen and CS Environment Deborah Barasa in championing ecosystem restoration and conservation.
