North Rift Valley Water Works Development Agency

North Rift Valley Water Works Development Agency (NRVWWDA) is one of the nine (9) Water Works Development Agencies under the Ministry of Water, Sanitation and Irrigation. It was established vide Gazette Notice No. 5 of 7th February 2020 pursuant to the Water Act No. 43 of 2016. It covers the counties of Uasin Gishu, West Pokot, Turkana and Elgeyo-Marakwet with a total Population of approx. 3.2 Million and an area of approx. 83,000 km2. The Agency was carved off the former Rift Valley Water Works Development Agency (West Pokot, Turkana and Elgeyo-Marakwet counties) and Lake Victoria North Water Works Development Agency (Uasin Gishu County).

Thousands of livestock and pastoral households in Chesakam and the surrounding areas of Kapenguria Constituency, are set to benefit from improved water access following the official handover of the Chesakam Water Pan Project to the contractor by the (NRVWWDA).

Today, NRVWWDA officially handed over the Kambi Tatu Dam Water Project to the contractor, paving the way for the commencement of works that will improve access to safe and reliable water for approximately 1,400 households in Sergoit Ward, Moiben Constituency.
